"May 11, 2001 marks the 20th anniversary of Bob Marley's death yeti**eems like only yesterday as these artists keep the memory of Bob Marley alive. The Rap improvizations get a little tiresome and I have to say sometimes 'Bob Marley didn't write that part'. Ziggy Marley is in top top form and for that reason I rate it 5 stars rather than 3 or 4. I also really liked Tracy Chapman's performances as it looks like she is really enjoying herself and she has a great voice. Ben Harper does a nice version of Get Up, Stand Up and Darius Rucker belts out a spirited version of War. The bonus features make it well worth the price."
"A terrific inner city tale with a diverse group of young adults trying to make it in the 'industry'. With their 'Restaurant' job as the setting. Love, friendship, betrayl and racism, are all seen here with painful reality.Adrien Brody and Malcolm Jamal-Warner are great in the lead roles. One flaw, too may characters, not enough time. Overall good movie."
"This movie is not funny at all. The commercials and advertising make it out ot be this hilarious full length movie and it is not. Dave doesn't really crack too many jokes in the movie. It is more focused on how the people he invited to the concert are reacting to meeting him and being given an opportunity to attend the concert. These patrons they show are not funny at all. The only good thing about the movie is the concert footage. My only gripe about that is that they don't show enough of the concert. For some artists you may get a full song but for most it was just like clips of their performance. You can tell it was a dope hip hop concert, due to the line up. I just wish they showed more of it."
"I also bought this movie anticipating to be knocked off my feet by the comedy works of Dave Chappelle but I fell asleep from the lack of anything remotely comedic. There were a few random lines Dave said in the movie but not enough to keep my interest, I wouldn't even recommend renting this movie. If you really have to watch this movie borrow it if you can and save you some dollars. I'd suppose you might like it if you like the rap and R&B singers who are in it otherwise stick to everything else Dave Chappelle."
"This movie went far beyond any expectations and hopes I may have had for it when I saw this in theaters. It is not simply a concert movie and it does not create a wall between artist and spectator. It is a joyous and uplifting film that celebrates not only Chappelle and the many musical artists represented but also the audience, the people bussed in from Ohio to see the concert, the businesses, organizations and New York locals that contributed to make this event happen. It was a film that truly became a communal experience and it is my favorite film of 2006(so far). I am anxious to see it again and get this into my DVD library!"
