"Iam not a lifetime person but one day i was flicking through the channels and this caught my eye maybe it was the title but anyway this movie is very perdictable also add mediocre acting and a underdeveloped villain and you got yourself the perfect lifetime movie."
"As an avid sci-fi/action genre maven who likes special effects, I was very surprised that a low budget movie did so well in cinematography. A well written and acted script, and very good special effects lends some credibility to having a powerful earthquake in a relatively low risk zone. It was eerie seeing the Trade Center again (as so many movies do), suffer damage other than terrorist driven. The main complaint about the DVD is that it is not widescreen. Being a TV movie, one would not expect widescreen, but the jewelcase description says 'formatted to fit your TV', thus it leads one to believe that a widescreen exists. Still, I enjoyed the film and actually believe the special effects to be better than in 'Earthquake'."
"This is a good movie. Only thing is, it's not really a comedy like it is said to be. There are a few humorous lines bt whatis there is unoriginal humor and definitely not laugh--out-loud funny. For wxample, in te bedroom scene just before Toni(Eleniak) and Eddy(MacNamera) make love, Eddy is unable to take her shirt off as a result of her being handcuffed to the bed post. Before leaving to retrieve the handcuff key, hey tells her, 'Okay, don't go anywhere.' See, not original and definitely not laugh-out-loud funny. But, the movie is a good drama and ha a pretty good plot. And having some provocative lines from Eleniak, a scantily clad Eleniak and the one scene with Eleniak naked alone make this movie worth 5 stars. 10 even."
"This straight to video release suffers from a low budget, a lack of imagination and an incredulous plot. Seems like the earth's poles are shifting and soon Miami and the southern US are going to be the new Antarctica. Of course we have the brilliant scientist who knows it's going to happen but no one believes him; the lovely ex-flame of the scientist; the corporate exec whose greed won't allow him to admit he knows the scientist is right; and the cute college couple who romantically banter back and forth.
Jeff Fahey does his best Rod Steiger impersonation in an over the top performance and Erika Eleniak looks like she wishes she were back in Baywatch.
For fans of disaster films, it's mildly entertaining but too preposterous to make an impact."
