Sex and the City - The Complete Series

"If you're mad that they now have the complete 6 seasons in one package and you went and bought them individually do what I did; unload those great DVDs with the cheap plastic packaging (scotch taped and all) on Amazon Marketplace (you can sell them individually or sell all 6 seasons as a complete set). You'll take a loss, but with the money you'll make from the sale (between $100 and $150) you can put it toward this new set and you'll be getting more extras than you did on the old set."

"I have been entranced by this mini-series for years and haven't ever been able to look at palm trees, rhinoceri, empty swimming pools or television the same way since. Wonderfully bizarre and a 'must see' for anyone into Gibson-esque cyberpunk."

" The bestseller of Tom Wolfe well deserved a better treatment, much more incisive and caustic gaze. Maybe Robert Altman seemed to be the most indicated filmmaker to direct it, due the secondary plots demanded to emerge with major firmness. Something was wrong with De Palma; perhaps he did not feel comfortable with this material. There is very stylized approach and the character definitively strand in the mere anecdote. Consider for instance, the level of the cast: Tom Hanks, Morgan Freeman two future Oscar winners) Melanie Griffith and Bruce Willis; the script possessed enough force to ignite the screen, but... I really hope someday when De Palma decides to make his personal self biography, we know about what was going on behind stage. "

Police Academy

"This was a great movie from a lost age of silly moviemaking. While the sequals were too trying, the original is a classic from the 80s. Porky's, Animal House, Stripes and Police Academy are all cut from the same mold. Silly, mindless fun. This was when movies were dumb and a whole lot more fun!"
