The Mighty

"It's a movie about teenager friendship. Sad ending with an awkward attempt to send an uplifting message. Decent acting, GREAT music! Yes, it's a feel-good movie. Yes, it has a predicatable plot. Yes, it's unapologetically sentimental. Yes, the knights on horseback scenes are extremely annoying. And yes, I was deeply moved by the movie. I just couldn't help it. (This is from a 30+ old guy who sit through Titanic and couldn't stop wondering what all the fuss was about.) "

"Well paced, well done science fiction movie. The story uses Arnold just right, and surrounds him with great actors. Based on an excellent story, this movie involves a man who starts to regain memories of being on Mars. Soon he finds that he is so much more than just a construction worker, that his whole life was just a lie. Tons of action and plenty of eye candy, this dvd is a nice print and a good addition to any collection."

"Dreamworks seems absolutely determined to expose young children to blatent violence, salacious themes, and consistent use of language any responsible parent would cringe at. Woody Allen and Sharon Stone, two of the moral-bending champions of our generation starring in a Children's movie?...and this movie was heavily marketed to children. For adults, the plot is banal. This is really one to avoid, as a matter of fact, I would skip all of the Dreamworks animated films."

"Of the two big insect movies going (Antz and A Bug's Life), I have to say that Antz has the more entertaining story. A Bug's Life takes the trophy for best animation. It's vibrant colors and textures are stunning. Particularly impressive are the grasshopper characters whose exoskeletons look amazingly lifelike. But the story in Antz is much more appealing from an adult's point of view. It is more sophisticated, and the movie, quite frankly, is a lot funnier. Woody Allen brings his distinctively neurotic style of humor to the lead role of Z. Allen fans will love his performance here. Both movies are excellent in their own right and deserve a place in your movie collection."

"Casino is easily one of the best movies I have ever seen. There are plenty of other reviews that go into details on this, so I will simply say that it is a masterpiece. This DVD edition is the best version out there, and surprisingly, it's cheaper than the Anniversary Edition (which is a 'flipper', and has had some playback problems). This version plays and looks great. I highly recommend it! Movie- 5/5 DVD- 4.5/5 (I only wish there were a few more extras.)"
