"The Mission stars Jeremy Irons and Robert DeNiro, but also includes brief performances from Liam Neeson and Aidan Quinn. The movie is set in the jungles of South America during the late 1700s. Jeremy Irons is a Jesuit priest trying to convert and protect the indigenous people. DeNiro is excellent in his portrayal of a hot-blooded slave-trader who has a change of heart. Together, they will struggle to save the people from takeover by the commercial exploits of the Spanish and Portuguese. The story moves very well, and the scenery is gorgeous. I believe this film won an Oscar for its cinematography. The musical score is hauntingly beautiful. The message is still powerful today. I would recommend seeing this."
"This is provocative cinema adventure of priests taking Kingdom of God to a native population yet untouched by advancing culture and technology. DeNiro is powerful in role of changed mercenary/slavetrader who jumps sides, while Irons is just superb in role of spiritual giant with magic oboe who leads this people against all odds only to be overran -- or were they? The storyline develops slowly yet beautifully in this magnificent landscape of South America. What makes it all one moving drama is a great soundtrack by Ennio Morricone."
"1 Star? That's right. 1 Star. This movie can't be shown the way it needs to be shown on VHS format. Lucas is just trying pinch every last little dollar out his loyal audience. This movie should be on DVD. VHS can't do it justice. It's a shame Lucas isn't on the DVD bandwagon because a many of his fans watch the Star Wars movies because they want to enjoy the art of it. I'll not spoil a good movie with a VHS viewing just to turn around and buy it a year later on DVD.1 - Star. for a poor choice. 1 - Star for trying to get one up on the fans."
"I apologize for rating a set that I haven't watch. I am sure it deserves 5 stars. I bought the first Kingdom of Heaven. My 1 star rate is a form of protest. I am holding a lot of purchases waiting for the special editions. This is business and I understand they try to sell me almost the same product 2 or 3 times, but I would be happy if they could launch always both versions together. Or at least advise a Director's cut or a SE is coming. May be there is a web page I am missing. I am sorry but I am NOT buying this set. I will wait for the HD DVD or Blu Ray version. You guys better hurry up with the high definition thing because I am cutting my dvd purchases right now. "
"Batman Begins will be released Oct. 10th. Would you like to pre-order it? Well you can't from Amazon.
If anyone that works for Amazon actually reads this, I would love some kind of explanation. In fact, you could put it on the same page as the products that are already released that you show as 'not yet released.' It makes me wonder if I made a mistake in becoming a Prime member. All I want is a little information.
Other titles not available from Amazon but available everywhere else:
Aeon Flux
Four Brothers
We Were Soldiers
The Italian Job
The Manchurian Candidate
U2: Rattle & Hum
Troy
King Kong (2005)"
