"If anyone still looks at this site and is a De Niro fan....can u help me?? I need to know for a project if he still method acts and if so how is it differnt to when he used to?? and if not why not? thanks"
"Scorsese's dark vision of human alienation in an urban wasteland captures the seaminess of pre-Giuliani Manhattan, and DeNiro's career-making performance as Bickle is haunting, recalling those real-life outcasts who have used violent crime to tell an oblivious world: 'I was here!'. Stunningly directed and acted, this picture is every bit as disturbing now as when released. Brilliant, but not for the faint of heart."
"This was a great movie that I really enjoyed.
Be warned though that there are alot of details given through out the movie that if you aren't watching carefully you will miss or not understand other parts in the movie. But once I was able to catch all the little details in the movie I could really enjoy it.
I think its great how through parts of the movie you are lead to question if the Russians are beating him in the intelligence arena. Then there is the scene where he gives a dollar to the one Russian. But this is more proof that you have to watch the small details and listen carefully to all the lessons that he is taught in the beginning about intelligence and counter-intelligence.
Awesome movie that you will definitely want to watch over and over."
"After Godfather I and II, Goodfellas has to be the best 'mob' movie out there. But I was disappointed in the DVD for one BIG reason. I had to flip the damn thing over halfway through the movie! I stayed away from laserdisc for this very reason. C'Mon Warner Brothers! There is no reaon that this couldn't have been created as a dual-layer DVD. I'd even spend a couple extra bucks for it."
"I have to say that this is one of the best movies I've ever seen. Yet the DVD doesn't do this classic justice. First off, the movie is listed as being enhanced for widescreen televisions. Unfortunately, this only applies to the menus, not the film itself. Another major problem is that the soundtrack of this film seems to be mixed in Dolby ProLogic since there's a lack of surround action. And the biggest problem with this disc: it's dual-sided, not dual-layered. In the middle of the film, the disc stops and you have to get up and flip it. Come on: this isn't laser disc.Memo to Warner Bros.: Remaster this epic anamorphically, in DTS digital surround, and make it a special edition, 2-disc set with the film on a dual-layered disc and extras on the second disc."
"Casino is a masterpiece....hands down, and I don't think anyone will disagree with me on that....but is this the special edition that was released not to long ago? It states the release date as January 2006...however, it was just released on DVD about 6 months ago! I find it hard to believe this is yet another edition...can anyone shed some light on this? If you haven't seen this film, do yourself a favor and buy it."
