"Give this man an award . . . NOW. Absolutely Brilliant. This man makes you week at the knees. Maybe he is not the world's best singer, but his brutal good looks make him sounds better than Micheal Jackson. This movie made me feel like singing. The cast was perfectly chosen. Best movie I've seen in a long time. Goes to show that you can still rock after fourty."
"Mrs. Doubtfire (widescreen), is not an anamorphic re-issue. It has the same letterboxed substandard transfer from the 2003 release, plus the added features. The outside sleeve states anamporhic 2:35, which is a lie and false advertising. This is not the first time fox home video does this. They also pulled this scheme with the abyss!!!. you should complain to fox and clarify this in your information for this item in your web site.
the quality of this dvd is not up to 2006 standards, and fox should replace all these discs with a quality new anamorphic transfer as advertised, or better yet, release it in high definition. Shame on you again fox home video!!"
"When I saw this film for the first time, I was practically jumping up and down in my seat with excitement as I watched the end. It is definitely a 'brain over brawn' movie - extremely clever and witty while the sexual tension between Russo and Brosnan is palpable. Very rare that a remake is so good! I hardly ever go back for second viewings in movie theatres, but I did for this film!"
"...and I love her! What was she thinking when she made this pasted-together film about a fiftyish 'ugly duckling' who marries an asexual professor and can't figure out how to 'un-platonic' their relationship? Part of the problem is that Streisand never fully commits herself to looking unattractive at the beginning: her idea of looking homely is long, dark clothing and brown hair, but with all the movie star lighting firmly in place. Barbra then drops the original film's plastic surgery transformation for a make-over that changes her looks into a Barbie doll of ill repute. Voila! The world is at her feet and her husband (and everybody else) is at her beck and call. What message does this send?"
"This movie is a classic adventure movie. The tension builds throughout, as Brosnan attempts to raise the warning about the volcano. Of course you know he will be right, but the movie gives a plausible reason for the poeple's resistance. Also, Linda Hamilton does a great job as the mayor who is torn between believing him and keeping the town from economic ruin. It's not as predictable as most adventure flicks either. The last 45 minutes totally kept me on the edge of my seat. Loved this one."
"This movie is a good disaster movie with all the elements of a disaster movie. There are all the stereotype disaster characters form the 'I'll ride it out' to the 'You are scaring my customers'.
Naturedly the person that knows what will happen (Pierce Brosnan) has no credibility with the authorities. Then the disaster happens and he must save the beautiful (Linda Hamilton) and family. At first indifferent soon to become enamored.
I do not want to go too much into detail as you will lose the shock value. I can tell you it involves a volcano and a budding love story.
