American Pie - Unrated

"I would consider this movie a classic because it is frankly very realistic. My friends are very much like these characters and underneath all the gross-out gags is a great story any one can relate to. Highly recommended."

"This was a truly lame movie. There are no laughs here, becauyse the sophomoric high jinks are so clumsily scripted and unbelievable. To have the character sleep with his friends mom and put 'Mrs Robinson' is not funny, its lame, and it steals from a really great coming of age movie. I'm disappointed to see how many people not only tolerated this film, but embraced it. To say its the POrky's of the 90s is not a compliment as far as I'm concerned..A Christmas Story on the other hand, thas a funny movie. I can not imagine someone buying this film and watching it repeatedly, its just not funny.South Park, Office Space, Being John Malcovich, The Graduate, Airplane, This Is Spianl Tap, these are funny movies, not American Pie--believe me--you can skip it!"

La Jetee/Sans Soleil

"I am very happy that Chris Marker's La Jette (and Sans Soleil) are on DVD. La Jetee is a wonderful, incredibly haunting film. It can easily be classified as one of the greatest science fiction films ever made in my opinion. It only runs 28 minutes, and is composed of nothing but still images and narration (except for one shot), yet the universe is contained within iti** that rare cerebral science fiction that hardly gets made these days, along the lines of 2001, Blade Runner, and Solaris (Tarkovsky's version). It was the inspiration for Twelve Monkeys, and while Monkeys is a great film in itself, La Jetee is much more haunting and moving. It's wonderful to be able to see La Jetee in a proper transfer. "

"If you have seen this on dvd hd dvd only makes it better. The picture and sound from this is amazing. Hd dvd's really make you feel like you are there. Mel Gibson did a great job on this film."

We Were Soldiers

"I have seen this film several times now, in the theater and at home. It shows us the heavy burden of command through Mel Gibson's sincere and introspective performance. It also shows the courage of the men in field and the pain they all felti**hows the 7th and the men they went up against. They were all soldiers, both sides. Either American or North Vietnamese, these soldiers stood beside their comrades, many of which paid the ultimate sacrifice, and fought for what they believed. This is a moving film. Most noteworthy is Mel Gibson's performance of honor and determination - the first man on the field and the last man off. "

Just Friends

"This movie definitely turned out to be better than expected. I'd just seen 'Waiting', which was decent, so I was interested to see what this Ryan Reynolds film would have to offer. This movie had a much better storyline than did 'Waiting...' It was very refreshing to see Ryan Reynolds play a character that wasn't Van Wilder-esque. He gives a very funny performance as the fat-kid turned Hollywood man-about-town wh***turns home and reconnects with the girl who broke his heart in his youth. The movie is funny right off the starting line and remains funny throughout. Recommended."
