"Although I give praise to the 1951 version of 'A Christmas Carol' featuring Alastar Sim, I too, favor the 1938 version starring Reginald Owen, and wonder why it hasn't yet been released on DVD. I first saw this version in the mid '60s, and did my best to catch it every year on television (before video tapes). The cast was great, along with the acting! It will always be Number 1, with Alastar Sim's version Number 2!
An update to my review! Reginald Owen's 1938 version of 'A Christmas Carol' is now available on DVD - I just got mine Dec. 8th, 2005 - get yours - now!"
The History Channel Presents The Crusades - Crescent & The Cross
"I am sorry we wasted our money on this as it does not tell the whole story - especially islam's role leading up to the cause of the crusades. For instance nothing was mentioned about the 7,000 christian pilgrims ambushed on their way to worship in jersulem in 1064-1065 before the 1st crusade. the muslims slaughtered many by ripping them to pieces. christians now had even more reason then ever to go to war to recapture what was taken from them by force centuries ago. also, what about how the christians suffered centuries of violent persecution as well as destruction of christian holy sites at the hands of muslims prior to the crusades? the christians as a result were forced into adopting the muslim doctrine of 'holy war'. history channel - shame on you for for being so biased."
"Elvira shines just like she did in the previous movie. Visually, the film is stunning. First-rate lighting & sets. The plot is a bit thin (much like the b-movies she reviews). Elvira's red & white striped stockings do look a bit weird, but she's never been known for subtlety. The carriage scene (fellow actor getting a VERY close look at her cleavage) is also cute. Given, the 'twin' concept has been done & redone over time, buti**till works so I can't complain. Basically, if you liked the first movie you'll like this one -- if only because Cassandra Peterson carries the movie on sheer carisma."
The Biggest Winner - How to Win by Losing: Cardio Kickbox
"I have never done a workout from Jillian Michaels before, and I have to say it: she totally kicked my butt! I've been bored with my workouts, and this is just what I needed. It's a short workout, but very intense. You don't stop for 30 minutes! In conjunction with a 30 minute cardio workout, you have the perfect routine. If you are a beginner, however, you might want to try Jillian's 'Shape-Up' DVDs first."
The Biggest Winner - How to Win by Losing: The Complete Body Workout
"I like many enjoyed the Biggest Loser show; that is why I bought these DVD's. I must say I am delighted with the results I am getting by doing these workouts, even though they push me to my limits. I can not see a beginner doing these, without modification you start where you are and work up to it. I am a workout animal but Jillian puts me to shame. This has been the only workout that has taken my fat percentage down."
