"Don't be misled by the fact that many don't like this movie. Perhaps it only appeals to afficiandos, but it ranks just below Casablanca as the best Bogart movie of all time. The off-beat humor is exquisite. The cast is simply marvelous, not only Bogart, but Robert Morley, Peter Lorre and, surprisingly, Jennifer Jones. It is a masterpiece of satire on the whole genre of mystery movies."
"I love these two together in a comedy. The up and down relationship is very intertaining. I hadn't seen this one for over 30 years and it wasn't quite as funny as what I had remembered as a teen. I still definitely liked it and would recomend it to others."
"This is one of the best classic comedy movies. If you are a fan of Gina Lollobrigida, chances are you won't be disappointed and will get to see her beauty and superb acting in this film. If you are a fan of Rock Hudson, then you will be delighted to see his humorous act in this movie. Nothing can be added to make this movie better than what it is now.Come September is one of those very light, romantic, and comedy movies ever made. You can see this movie whenever you want a break from all the movies we get to see these days. If you will buy this DVD, I can assure you that you will see it many times and won't let dust settle on it like it happens to many of the DVDs on our shelves. Worth spending each and every penny on purchasing this title.. GO FOR IT! You will love it."
"Spaghetti western collectors should know the Geneon release is a nice letterboxed, widescreen transfer. Colors are slightly faded and its non-anamporphic, but otherwise this is a fantastic looking picture for a budget label. Consequently, I was able to sit back and enjoy the film as intended. Actually it is quite funny at times, and nowhere near as bad as reviews would lead you to believe. "
"Terrific movie. my opinion of the dvd itself is what you're interested in, though.ok, apart from the tony curtis intro, this could have been a decent disc. the quality is about what you'd expect from a movie made ten years earlier, but that may be what we'll have to live with until robert a. Harris decides to restore it.unfortunately, the logo that laserlight chose to put in the lower right corner, much like television stations can't resist doing these days, really ruins it. not only does one not expect to have to put up with distractions like this on a disc that one pays for, buti**hows up every ten minutes during the movie. it just shows how little class laserlight has. you may as well tape it when it shows up on amc."
