"Empty and pointless story. Poor screenplay. And worst of all, characters that the audience just doesn't care about. The final plot twists lack purpose and leave the viewer thinking: 'So what? 'This movie strives to be insightful, full of suprises, and make the audience think... Unfortunately the story is shallow and fails miserably."
"First off, if you are a TRUE Final Fantasy fan, you will realize that this in fact a FF related movie. When you watch Dr. Aki Ross speak to General Grey about a little girl that was dying, you will notice that she mentions about returning to the earth. In other words, like in the game Final Fantasy VII, when Aeris died, she returned to the planet. This is just an example.
I saw this movie when it hit movie theaters on July 11th, 2001. I got hooked onto this movie. It was a fantastic movie. For those of you who have debated about picking this up, from one FF fan to another, you will NOT be disapointed. This movie is well worth it."
"I'm a street fighter fanatic! I've loved the concept since the original Street Fighter Arcade Game (the impossible to play one with the large buttons you had to smash, and the impossible to pull off special moves, Street Fighter II was a piece of cake in comparison).I bought this because I was hoping to get a more complete collection, and I'm not entirely dissapointed...Though it is quite true to the video game, it's very much the same style as the 1980's Gi-Joe... which means that if you're used to anime (like the Otaku I am) you might be a little dissapointed."
"Being a Chinese, I really appreciate the efforts put into this movie. Most of the movie is accurate to the old tale that my mother told me when I was a young girl. Especially Mulan's strive to prove that she could be more than just a helpless girl waiting to be married into a wealthy family. This story has been staged in many Chinese operas. Mom's version has it that nobody discovered Mulan's true identity until the captain decided to visit Mulan after the war.
Naturally mom's version did not include a wisecracking dragon, but it was a welcome addition. The up-to-date jokes made it an easier story to comprehend.
