The Poseidon Adventure

"This tepid remake of the Irwin Allen original features only one thing worth mentioning: the topsy-turvy rollover scene between Steve Guttenberg's character and his shipboard mistress as the two are in the midst of a 'secret rendezvous.' The sight of the tumbling pair, along with the cabin's furniture and other appointments, is good for a snicker or two. The computer imagery of the overturning ship, as well as the other 'special effects,' is about as wooden as a deck chair from the Titanic."

"I don't feel the need to spell out the plot of the film, since you probably already know it if you're reading this, so I'll keep this short. If you're American and not used to watching British films you may have to watch it a couple times or try it with subtitles to catch everything, but the movie itself is still wonderful. Sean Bean is (as usual) the bad guy, and he plays it beautifully. If you're a fan of his or just into action-packed gangster flicks, I highly recommend Essex Boys."

"The tapes were superb. Now, WHEN will we be offered Seasons 8 thur spring of 2007?? I am waiting for the 'passing' of Mark Green. The sensitivity, truth, and carefulness with which so many issues were addressed needs to be available for people who may be at that time of their lives. And it is certainly not readily available from educational resources.And I missed the wedding of Abby and Luca. Commericals you know. So please hurry and get the remainder of the years ready for sale. Not having to suffer the mindlessness of commericals and timing your time out of the room is very tricky. One can easily miss the best part as I think networks try to trick you to watch commericals."

"This movie is probably one of the most explicit you can see in the softcore genre... a couple scenes could make it into a Penthouse video. It's a real collector's item if you are a fan of Kara Styler (aka Chrissy Styler) a six foot tall bombshell who has an incredibley fit body. Her stipper sequence leaves nothing to the imagination and her threeway with super hot Nikki Fritz is a sizzler. And that masseuse scene, yep, it shows stuff you'd see from Penthouse. Surrender Cinema's Director's Cut versions of their movies usually show this kind of hot, envelope pushing stuff. Hotter than Playboy but not really porn."

"As a fan of public television, an anglophile and an armchair historian (particularly roman history) -- not to mention a long-time alex kingston fan -- i held high hopes for this wgbh produced tale of the brave and brutal boudicca.those hopes were dashed in the first few minutes of the program and were never revived. My interest (and worse: the spirit of boudicca) was brutalized by an incredibly poor script, that was brought to life by trite performances -- the result, i'm sure, of a wandering directorial view.in trying to be a combination of historical drama, historical romance, morality tale, war film, and mystical allegory, warrior queen ends up failing on all counts. It's not good history. It's not entertaining history. And it's simply just not worth watching."
