"Bought this for Mr. Purefoy. The movie is horrid, sorry! Though James plays his role to perfection, I didn't like the movie as a whole. If you're a Purefoy fan, I highly recommend purchasing this though. His character is throughout and it's definitely necessary as part of your collection. But I wish overall it could have been better."
"Staring mel gibson, this is an entertaining family movie with just a smidgen of science fiction. but where's the theatrical widescreen edition? sorry, but i only purchase dvds displaying the film's original aspect ratio."
"The movie is one of my favorites, works on both a romantic level, and a comic level. but where's the widescreen? todays consumers are more educated (thank god) and they've almost stopped asking the stupid question 'why watch widescreen, you lose the top and bottom of the movie?!' they finally get that you are seeing more of the movie with widescreen and not less. so how can i be expected to buy this dvd? it is for all intents and purposes 'incomplete'. who's going to pay for all of something and be satisfied with only getting some of it? buy this movie as soon as ws version becomes availible!"
"This film is generally dreadful - with a simplistic plot, an obnoxious herione, and only one good laugh (it involves a Canadian Mountie). Yet, as others have said, the saving grace is Michael Buble. His singing is wonderful and he may have some potential as an actor. Unfortunately, the film doesn't isolate its chapters so one could zoom from one Buble song to the next and skip this badly written film."
"So, I love love loved this movie when I watched it a week ago on t.v. I ordered it on Amazon so I could share it with my fiance. As I started to watch, low and behold, it's edited. It doesn't tell you this when you go to order it. The best parts of the movie aren't there! It's pretty bad when the t.v. version has less editing than the dvd. Be smart and look for the UNedited version, it's so much more funny."
