"Take away the beginning and end credits and what you are left with is a 75-minute long movie that wasn't worth the price of admission in the cinema but is worth owning on DVD. What I liked about Lake Placid is that it is kind of light-hearted and doesn't try and make itself a full-blown horror by showing us guts and entrails. The movie is NOT serious and has many suspenseful scenes packed into it's VERY brief running time. The cast are delightful and the big nasty croc is actually quite sympathetic at the end. Buy this DVD and enjoy for what it is...a light, breezy comedy-thriller that nails the bullseye instead of aiming for higher (and ultimatly lesser) results. The DVD has some promotional material and a trailer. It is in Dolby 5.1 and is letterboxed at 2.35:1."
"Before watching 'Call Me - The Rise and Fall of Heidi Fleiss', the only thing I knew about Heidi or her life was what I had seen on the news several years ago.
Watching the movie knowing nothing about Fleiss until she was on the news, I thought that it was very interesting to see what didn't make the tabloids.
Fleiss comes off as poorly disciplined, free-spirited, and spoiled. All of these traits which carry into her 'professional' life. I think that Jamie-Lynn DiScala did a really great job portraying the Hollywood Madame.
I would definitely say that due to the content and subject matter, this movie wouldn't be for everyone. And, if you're expecting this to be soft-core, it's noti** more of a video biography."
"Jennifer Garner has proven she's an actress who can act (13 Going on 30 and Alias). Daredevil was not very good as a movie because Ben Affleck was miscasti** hard to feel sorry for his character, especially when Daredevil was released during the whole Benifer incident. Jennifer Garner, however, stood out as Elektra in Daredevil. She looks like she can really handle swords and jumps. In real life, she's a martial artist so that's believable. The action seems intense, and the action seems fast-paced. Put it together with some really cool music, and you have something like Mortal Combat. "
"I rented this DVD because a reviewer said that it was 'what Charlie's Angels should have been but wasn't'. I haven't played the computer game this story was supposedly modelled on so the characters were new to me. I can understand why the reviewer thought the way he did as it has a similar idea. Three females with different agendas face huge odds, multiple fight scenes, humerous situations, and still win out at the end. A bit long-winded in some of the fighting but still a better story than Charlie's Angels."
"Everyone should know that uwe boll is the world's worst film-maker. His movies are worse than direct-to-dvd films. Now that you have that knowlege, let me divulge to you that you should stay away from this movie or any boll flick. If you've had the wonderful opprotunity to not watch the first bloodrayne, well, here's another time to not watch the sequel. Uwe boll can't make films and this movie shows it. The action is well...not choreographed, the actor's are not even acting, prostitues are hired as extras and there is little or no story. Oh and more thing, it has nothing to do with the video games! boll's films are mostly game-to-movie adaptaions but they're never based on the game. So, in short stay away from uwe boll films!!! you'll live a better life!"
"I first saw this movie on USA Network on cable, I thought it would be one of those life time movies about cheating and killing but I was wrong. THis is a good movie about this lady. It stars pretty good on how she started in that prostitution business and keeps going. IT has barely any full sex scenes and just a bit of nudity. No BIG Deal.
Still I like this DVD because it does pretty good as to introducing the character of Heidi Fleiss but their was no real celebrity stuff.
If you are like me, knows nothing about the lady, watch it. If not dont bother.
The bad: short amount of time."
