"Have you already seen photos from Cannes Festival? Ornella Muti was splendid and with new boyfriend!!!
Ornella Muti launched her first jewels collection on Cannes Festival
It is is a refined bracelet with little precious handcuffs and description in Manipuri "free me, if you love me...."
I've also read that the bracelet has been presented on Tribecca's festival in NY at the end of April and already has had a big success (some movies stars were wearing it, during the gala ceremony)...
By the way, in the middle of June Ornella (who`s mother is Estonian) will present her new collection in Riga, Tallin, Vilnius. Personally!!!"
"A reasonable effort by Volker Schlondorff to film the unfilmable. It's valuable mainly for giving a reader of Proust some idea of the costumes, houses, and mannerisms of late 19th-century Paris. Ornella Muti fits Odette's character perfectly, and the dapper Alain Delon gives a face and figure to Baron Charlus. Helpful extended criticism of the film can be found in Roger Shattuck's 'Proust's Way: A Field Guide to 'In Search of Lost Time''. He provides some insights into Jeremy Iron's performance that those who don't speak French will find illuminating. I enjoyed the movie before I read the novel although it was a bit confusing, but the confusion impelled me to attempt Proust if only to find out what was going on. I hope it's reissued on DVD soon."
"This is a funny movie and the actors like John Candy and James Belushi carry off this light hearted farce with style and wit. But what cinched this movie for me and has made it one of my all time favourites, is the star, a minature red dachshund! This little fellow leaves all the humans in the outer. He is the real star. For everyone who loves the weiner this movie is up there with Disney's Ugly Dachshund. Oh and Monte Carlo and the Riviera setting is quite nice too."
"The Count of Monte Cristo is one of my favorite books of all time so I was hesitant to see it translated on film. I purchased this version as opposed to the newer/American one, because I thought a French production would lend a certain authenticity to it. Not surprisingly, the dvd leaves parts of the story out; that's the harsh reality of translating a book into film. There were a few cheesy images--like a small boat surrounded by whipping waves but the boat didn't really move. Oh well. It's not perfect. But it is VERY good. I would rather rationalize a large Gerard Depardieu as a starved prisoner than watch a version that purports to condense a fabulous story like this one into a two hour movie. Very well acted and I highly recommend."
"Summer Affair. I had never seen it before buying it, only on the basis that I'm a big fan of Ornella Muti.
The film was not bad, very early 70's, I didn't really expect the film to be fantastic, but I wasn't really disappointed either.
If your a fan of Ornella Muti then I suggesti** worth having in your collection, although the only thing I thought was ''what the hell'' was her voice is dubbed over, other than that, Ornella is just stunning as always."
"Why, Universal ... WHY? Granted, this isn't a cinematic classic buti** a good time! I've loved this movie ever since I was a little kid and was hoping for so much more out of a special edition. I'm undecided as to whether or not I'll actually purchase this. I'm fortunate to own one of the OOP copies (stumbled across it in a used CD store for $5 no less) and it seems like Universal isn't giving me a really good reason why I should buy this particular edition.
I gave it four stars simply because I love the movie."
